dc.descriptionThe authors describe the estimated characterists of ground motion on the base rock near the fault in the case of Kita-Tango Earthquake, occurred in south-west of Japan on March 7, 1927 (M=7.5). The ground motions at top subsurface were calculated assuming the constant particle velocity amplitude of the source spectra. The response spectral values at 11 sites with different distances from the fault are found to have good correlation with the damage ratio of the wooden house structure. The assumed base rock motion near the fault may be considered one of the possible solution to describe its character.en-US
